Discover Playa Langosta & Tamarindo: Your Ultimate Itinerary
If you’re dreaming of a tropical escape that combines pristine beaches, vibrant nightlife, rejuvenating wellness, and exhilarating day trips, look no further than Playa Langosta and Tamarindo. This itinerary blends adventure, relaxation, and culinary delights to create the perfect getaway.

1. Beach Vibes and Fun
Soak Up the Sun at Playa Langosta’s Beach Club
Start your getaway at the iconic beach club at Playa Langosta: https://www.langostabeachclub.com/day-pass-benefits-2025. Day passes include access to their facilities, towels, and the infinity pool. Enjoy a day under the sun with the soothing sound of the waves, a refreshing cocktail in hand, and an atmosphere that’s perfect for unwinding.
On other days, enjoy the beach rental services available from various vendors along Tamarindo beach. This service ensures you can lounge in style and make the most of your beach day.
Find a Day of Fun with a Beach Crawl
The Tamarindo Beach & Pool Crawl offers a vibrant tour through Tamarindo’s best beach and pool party spots, where you can enjoy refreshing cocktails, upbeat music, and a lively atmosphere. The guided experience takes you to local hotspots perfect for mingling with fellow travelers while soaking up the tropical sun and enjoying the unique coastal vibe of Costa Rica. This tour is an ideal way to experience the exciting fusion of relaxation and nightlife that defines Tamarindo.
2. Wellness & Yoga
Find Your Zen at Local Yoga Studios
Enhance your relaxation with a rejuvenating yoga session at the many local studios. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned yogi, their daily classes in a tranquil setting offer the perfect balance to your sun-soaked adventures.
3. Culinary Delights & Nightlife
Dine at La Oveja Surf House
Savor the coastal flavors at La Oveja Surf House. With its relaxed, surfer-inspired vibe, this restaurant serves fresh local cuisine that perfectly complements the laid-back beach atmosphere. It’s also located within the heart of the shops and cafes so you can shop before or after dinner. At time of writing in 2025, this remains the second best restaurant in Tamarindo! (Note: #1 is the Falafel House which is also delicious and highly recommended as a perfect lunch stop. Waits for food can occasionally be long.)
Experience the Magic of El Be
When the sun sets, head over to El Be for a lively evening. This hotspot comes alive with live music and a mesmerizing fire show after that sunset that promises an exciting fusion of art, culture, and culinary delights.
Tamarindo is a great place to have fun a night – so go out and explore the many beach clubs and restaurants that come alive at night!
4. Pamper Yourself
Quick & Easy Nail Appointments at Coco Beauty Spa
Treat yourself at Coco Beauty Spa, where two skilled aestheticians work simultaneously to give you a flawless manicure and pedicure. It’s the ideal pick-me-up that leaves you looking and feeling fabulous without taking up too much of your travel time. This is not a luxurious spa and is located in a place but it is convenient, well priced, and enjoyable.
5. Explore Tamarindo’s Estuary
No trip to Tamarindo is complete without a visit to its captivating estuary. This ecological haven is home to mangroves, abundant birdlife, and a serene waterway perfect for exploration. CAUTION: Do not cross the water yourself nor swim in this area as there are crocodiles. Watch for the signage.
How to Cross:
- Guided Tours: Join a guided boat or kayak tour to safely navigate the intricate channels. Local guides provide essential tips and ensure you experience the estuary’s natural wonders up close.
- Self-Guided Adventure: If you’re an experienced paddler, rent a kayak and explore at your own pace—just be sure to follow safety instructions.
Although we have not used this tour guide, they come well reviewed on Google and have 2 hour tour for less than $40 USD per person to visit the estuary: https://nativeswaycostarica.com/tour-item/tamarindo-estuary-tour/. Check out their many other tours for some great adventures.
6. Exciting Day Trips to Expand Your Adventure
To be honest – we do NOT recommend exploring too far outside of Tamarindo for just a day trip as the roads are windings speeds slow, and you can eat up a lot of time travelling. Tamarindo has so much to do, so you might as well enjoy your time there. However, if you REALLY want to explore further, here are our 2 top suggestions.
Option 1: Day Trip to Visit a Waterfall
A favorite among Tamarindo visitors, the Llanos de Cortez Waterfall or La Leona waterfalls. Enjoy a scenic drive through Guanacaste’s lush countryside, followed by a refreshing hike to the falls. Take a dip in the natural pool, soak in the vibrant rainforest surroundings, and capture breathtaking photos of this hidden gem. Be sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring plenty of water for the journey. These are both long trips from Tamarindo, so we recommend using a tour and starting the day early. Do NOT plan to drive after dark.
Option 2: Nosara Discovery
Embark on a day trip further south to the beautiful town of Nosara, where unspoiled beaches and coastal charm await. Best ways to enjoy a day in Nosara include: a visit to Bodhi Tree for yoga or pilates, casual shopping and dining in Nosara’s main strip, or enjoy the beaches including Playa Peleda or Playa Garza. On your return, stop by Cloud Coffee at Destiny for a unique caffeine experience—remember, Destiny closes at 3 PM, so plan your visit accordingly.
Suggested Nosara Day Trip:
- 7 am departure from Tamarindo
- 9 am arrival in Nosara at Bodhi Tree; relax at their cafe and have a second breakfast
- 9:30 am enjoy a pilates or yoga class at Bodhi Tree
- 11 am visit Destiny Cafe for the famous Cloud Coffee and then head to downtown Nosara to enjoy some shopping
- 12:30 pm head to La Luna for lunch and beach time
- 3:30 pm start journey back to Tamarindo
- 5:30 pm arrive back in Tamarindo in time for the sunset set (MUST ensure you are back before sunset to avoid driving in the dark which can be challenging)
7. Essential Safety Tips
- Secure Your Belongings: Never leave valuables unattended on the beach.
- Waterproof Your Essentials: Use a waterproof bag to keep your phone, keys, and other important items safe while you swim.
Whether you’re here for a relaxing retreat or an action-packed adventure, Playa Langosta and Tamarindo offer something for every traveler. Embrace the vibrant culture, indulge in exquisite dining, and explore the natural wonders that await. Happy travels, and remember to stay safe while making unforgettable memories!

Embracing Costa Rica’s Vibrant Landscape: A Guide to Stylish Adventure Attire
Costa Rica, with its lush jungles, pristine beaches, and adventurous spirit, is a paradise for nature lovers and thrill-seekers alike. As you prepare for your journey to this Central American gem, consider incorporating a wardrobe that not only complements the breathtaking landscapes but also suits the adventurous activities that await. Let’s explore the ideal color palette and attire for an unforgettable Costa Rican experience.
1. Beach Vibes:
Costa Rica’s coastline boasts some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, characterized by golden sands and crystal-clear waters. To effortlessly blend in with the coastal charm, opt for light and airy colors. Think shades of aqua, turquoise, and soft pastels for your swimwear and cover-ups. A stylish straw hat and sunglasses will not only complete your beach ensemble but also provide much-needed sun protection.
2. Jungle Chic:
Venture into Costa Rica’s dense jungles and rainforests by embracing earthy tones that mimic the rich, green foliage. Choose clothing in shades of olive green, khaki, and deep browns to seamlessly blend with the natural surroundings. Lightweight, moisture-wicking fabrics are key to staying comfortable as you explore the vibrant flora and fauna. Don’t forget a pair of sturdy, closed-toe shoes for traction on uneven terrain.
3. Adventure-Ready Attire:
For the adrenaline junkies seeking zip-lining, hiking, and other thrilling activities, prioritize practicality without sacrificing style. Opt for quick-drying fabrics, breathable layers, and convertible pants that can adapt to changing weather conditions. Neutral tones like gray, beige, and charcoal are not only versatile but also help conceal dirt and stains – a practical choice for active pursuits.
4. Sun Smart Accessories:
The tropical sun in Costa Rica can be intense, so arm yourself with stylish accessories that provide protection. A wide-brimmed hat, a lightweight scarf for covering shoulders, and a quality pair of UV-blocking sunglasses are essentials. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen regularly to keep your skin safe from the strong sun rays.
5. Evening Elegance:
For the evenings when you want to unwind after a day of adventure, pack a few elegant yet comfortable pieces. Flowy maxi dresses or linen shirts paired with tailored shorts can effortlessly transition from day to night. Choose vibrant colors that reflect the energy of Costa Rica’s nightlife, and add a touch of local flair with handmade accessories.
In conclusion, packing for Costa Rica is all about finding the perfect balance between style and practicality. Embrace the natural color palette of the landscape, choose versatile and comfortable clothing for adventure, and accessorize wisely to stay sun-smart. With the right wardrobe, you’ll not only be prepared for the diverse activities that Costa Rica has to offer but also look effortlessly chic while doing so.
